Oet / Ielts

A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and OET (Occupational English Test) exam is accepted by immigration authorities and continues to play an important role in using language assessment. Both tests can help you to reach your education, career or life goals. It provides great platform for study, work and immigration. At ATOM, we create international opportunities for the people by training students in English and thereby assist our students to succeed anywhere in the world.

Main difference between IELTS and OET are:

  1. IELTS can be taken by any student looking for career overseas (whose native language is not English).Whereas OET is taken up by only the medical professionals.
  2. With respect to exam dates there are more date options in case of IELTS while in OET there is only one date per month (12 dates in a year).
  3. A very important difference between the two is that of fees. The exam fees of OET is thrice that of IELTS Exam fees.
  4. One more feature that forms to be a difference between the two are: If you score less in any module in IELTS you need to take it up all over again. While if you talk about OET if you are not able to score only in a particular module then you can resit for that particular module and improve your score.
  5. The purpose of taking IELTS can be any study, job or immigration. But if you talk about OET it is for job purpose only.
